FASRO 39th Annual Training Conference


The Florida Association of School Resource Officers provides the most advanced and comprehensive training for school-based police and school administrators. FASRO is the oldest school policing organization in the United States and currently has over 600 members. FASRO seeks quality presenters nationwide to address current issues facing school safety, security, and crime prevention.

More importantly, FASRO provides Florida specific training . This year’s annual training conference will focus on active shooter training for both law enforcement and school personnel. FASRO is pleased to announce that Don Alwes from the National Tactical Officers Association will be our featured speaker. FASRO also offers many other classes to include SRO Single Person Response to Active Shooters presented by the Florida SWAT Association, Pulse Night Club Shooting and Response with Deputy Chief Rolon Orlando Police Department, Boston Marathon Bombing with Retired Chief Daniel Linskey Boston Police Department, and Florida Legal Updates with Assistant State Attorney Maria Schneider 17 Judicial Circuit.


NEW: Assessing your School for the Unthinkable "Preparing before the Response”


This session will focus upon the need for schools to properly assess/audit their schools challenges in school safety. Curt Lavarello has performed hundreds of school safety assessments across the nation and will share what has become best practices and challenges to keeping children and staff safe. An emphasis will be placed on practical, common-sense steps that school administrators, counselors, threat assessment teams, crisis teams, and safety officials can take for more cognitive, less emotional responses to school threat scenarios
